Day 1: Mobile Devices

Published March 30, 2021

Ok first up, your phone – the device that’s in our hands 24/7. Before you even get into the digital files, take the cover off and wipe the thing down. Who knows what crumbs or dirty smudges have stayed hidden there and for how long. Next, take a hard look at the apps on your phone. Delete the ones you’re no longer using and organize all of your remaining apps in folders by category or frequency of use. You may opt to keep the apps you use most often readily available on the main home screen or in a “Favorites” folder. For other creative ways to organize your mobile apps, check out this Mashable article.

You may also want to take a peek at your App store subscriptions to make sure you don’t have any auto-renewals coming up that you want to cancel – though typically small those purchases can add up! Lastly, swap the background image and screensaver on your phone for a fresh spring look.

If you have a Tablet, you’ll want to repeat the whole process on that device. And if you use your tablet less frequently, check that the OS is up to date and that your storage level is adequate. Bonus points if you clean up your Kindle or e-reader today as well!
