lockrMail vs. Firefox Relay

There are several email productivity and privacy tools on the market today and we want to help you choose the tool that works best for you. When comparing lockrMail with Firefox Relay, some of the key differentiating factors to keep in mind are:

lockrMail is mobile optimized.

Unlike Firefox Relay, lockrMail’s product is fully optimized for your smartphone, meaning all features can be accessed seamlessly from any mobile device.

lockrMail offers advanced filtering functionality.

In addition to binary allow and block options per Sender as offered through Firefox Relay, lockrMail also allows you to create and enable advanced filters. With lockrMail Filters you can curate which emails are delivered from a given Sender based on desired content, and block the rest.

lockrMail offers significantly more premium features for free.

lockrMail’s free offering includes multiple Destination Emails, a custom email address, and substantially more storage and processing capabilities. Firefox Relay does not offer any of these features and its free offering limits the number of email aliases to just 5. 

lockrMail’s browser extension is compatible with Google Chrome (and browsers that support Chrome extensions).

While the Firefox Relay extension makes it easy to generate new email aliases in a browsing session, the functionality is limited to the Firefox browser which is preferred by less than 5% of web users. lockrMail provides you access to blocked emails.

Blocking emails is a critical way to manage your inbox, but sometimes an important email may miss your filters. lockrMail allows you to easily view blocked emails and manually deliver them to your inbox at any point. When an email is blocked via Firefox Relay, the entire alias is disabled, meaning you have no way to access those blocked emails. 

lockrMail can be used at the point of sale.

Unlike Firefox Relay and other solutions built solely for online registrations and account management, lockrMail is a public-facing, easy-to-remember, persistent email address that can be used anywhere you are in the world. So whether you’re paying at the coffee shop counter or shopping at the mall, you can use your lockrMail email for e-receipts and loyalty programs.

lockrMail users can reply to emails from their lockrMail email address.

When users reply to a brand email that was sent to their lockrMail email address, the response will route through the lockrMail server and appear to the Sender as having been sent from the lockrMail email address. This helps preserve anonymity for our users and maintain consistency when contacting brands’ customer support. This feature is not currently offered through Firefox Relay.
